  1. I agree with you. Problem with me is, I can’t seem to keep doing it. I would start then stop. Start and continue for a few days and then stop for months. It’s crazy. I couldn’t seem to continue writing my thoughts down. 🙁 But I do find journaling worthy.

  2. I find journaling very therapeutic, I used to journal a lot when I was younger but don’t do it as often as I would like to now. The video is so informative and is inspiring to restart my journaling again.

  3. I am a big fan of journaling, bullet journaling in particular. It really helps me to be more mindful and focus on the positives

    1. Yes, it does help one become more mindful so much so that it helps me identify lack of mindfulness in others. It is a blessing and a curse. Hahahaha

  4. I really need to start journaling, you’ve made me want to do it so bad, like get my life back on track. It’s so therapeutic and relaxing figuring yourself out, your day and all of that.

  5. I’ve not used journalling before, other than my blog which I guess is like a journal, but I’ve been looking at blog posts of bullet journals and I’m really wanting to give one a try for myself!

  6. I’ve always been a journal person. I love writing my thoughts and expressing my feelings through words. It’s really like therapy and it definitely helps me cope especially through difficult times!

    1. Yeah… it can be daunting but like I mentioned in the video, it is more of a release for me so I have to but now I do it as needed which isn’t so bad!

  7. I agree! I think journaling has been very therapeutic for me. I also love to look back and see how far I’ve come. It has helped me to be more reflective about my goals.

  8. Some great tips here. I’ve always wanted to start a journal, I’ve got as far as writing a little bit about my day each day but would love to write more.

  9. Journaling is a wonderful way to record thoughts and events. It can be a safe way to keep record, it can stop confrontation. The only issue I have is like others have said, keeping up to date with it. I have often said that if I could put all my thoughts in writing at the time I think them, it would be fab. But by the time I get to actually write or type my thoughts, sometimes I hsve forgotten everything I had actually thought about previously!

    1. I understand your dilemma of possibly forgetting. What I do is, I have a small jotter (Dollar Store has them) and I simply write the date and a little summary of what I will write later on. That has helped me greatly! Hope it helps you too.

  10. You had me at “Avoid Unnecessary Conversations”. I used to write down everything as a kid, but I lost that habit when I grew up. When I realized how much my brain is overflowing, how much desperate I am to tell about it to everyone(and bore them), or fight unnecessarily in a moment of heat, I resumed writing. And that has helped a lot. As you said, when I pour down my thoughts into the journal, everything becomes coherent, I finally see the patterns!

  11. I must admit, I never journal on paper….but I journal in my mind. I totally agree with your list. I think it is so important and definitely leads to identifying patterns, as well as eliminating outbursts, both social media and in person. In this busy world, it is so important to take a minute and gather thoughts, evaluate, and move forward. Thanks for sharing.

  12. There are some great points here! The one about unnecessary conversations is very true, as the journal allows time to reflect x

  13. We love the therapeutic benefits and find it very relaxing. In fact I would say that our blog is just an extension of what we were doing years ago!

  14. Journaling like coloring can have similar effects as meditation. It’s the process of single mindedness. We like to think we can multitask but our brains and bodies prefer to do one thing at a time.

  15. I used to keep a daily journal when I was a teenager but stopped after I left school, I guess now my blog is my representation of a journal as it does document my feeling and experiences.

  16. I love journaling. It’s just part of my routine. It’s really helpful for planning and even for getting those feeling out. Sometimes you just need to let something out and journaling is a really good way of doing it.

  17. I haven’t journaled in over a decade and would love to get back into it. It’s so therapeutic and very useful for your mental health. x

  18. I can perfectly relate on what you say; I used to have a diary for many years as a your girl ant this practice has resulted to be very useful for my personal development, talking and writing ability and also in my ability to give order to my thoughts

  19. I think journaling is great! There is just something calming about writing things down. Sometimes I want to have tangible record of what has been going on in my life, or what my son has been doing lately. Plus it helps me remember things I otherwise may have forgotten!

  20. This is great! Journaling can make such a difference for all the reasons you mentioned. It’s definitely therapeutic and it’s amazing what you can discover about yourself when you read them back later on.

  21. I don’t journal every day, but I do find, on days that I feel overwhelmed, it really seems to help to get all my thoughts out on paper.

  22. I love journaling which always helps reach my goals. Journaling is also therapeutic for me, whenever I have a problem, I find the answers that I am looking for alone in my journal.

  23. You know, I always write but have never thought about keeping a journal. I think writing has taken its toll on me but now that I’ve come to think of it, perhaps keeping a journal will let me love writing again as much as I once used to.

  24. I have kept a journal sporadically over the years, but it’s been several years since I’ve attempted to keep one. I tend to internalize things a lot & actively keeping a journal probably helps.

  25. I must admit I never kept a journal when I was younger and I’m a little sorry about that. I would love to go back to the old/young me and see how my thoughts and ideas have changed over time. I could probably learn so much.

  26. I totally agree with all the benefits of journaling. That’s why I really love to write a journal. It’s like my dairy book. LOL!!

  27. I find my blog is my journal. I do it everyday but then I edit it into proper posts and paragraphs. It’s a very important part of my day.

    1. Blogging could be a form of journaling as you’re documenting a part of your life. However, the most important thing for me with journaling is transparency and one couldnt optimize that with a blog.

  28. I love journaling for keeping track of things upcoming and tasks I need to do, without it I wouldn’t have such a structured blog schedule! As for personal journals I don’t keep one but it must be amazing to be able to read them again in years to come.

  29. I used to write in a journal every day and now I’m slacking haha. I use my planner kind of like one for all my thoughts to keep up with blog work.

  30. I keep a daily journal – it’s a gratitude journal. I found that regular journaling, I focused too much on the negative. When I write about positive events only, I feel better and happier. I have always kept a journal and feel that it’s beneficial.

  31. I love this. I love keeping a journal, but I’m always super bad at being real consistent with it. I need to try harder!

    1. Pls dont let inconsistency keep you from trying. There is something about looking back on things you’ve written in the past that could reignite your appreciation for it!

  32. Journalling seems really therapeutic. I find it is really helpful to write down my thoughts at times. It is a great way to clear the mind.

  33. I think journaling helps put things in perspective! I am going work this. I remember doing it when was younger. It’s a great way to put your thoughts together.

    1. Self discovery is everything. I sometimes wonder that most people live an entire lifetime without discovering who they are and that scares and humble me at the same time!

  34. I totally agree! During all my childhood and youth I kept different journals and my life felt better. I know, back then I didn’t have the responsibilities I have now, I didn’t have a family and children to take care of, but I think journaling gave me some “me” space that I am lacking now.

    1. Though, I recently got married, I am glad I discovered this before I did as it has helped me in more ways than not! Thanks for your feedback!

  35. I love journaling. Not just the writing portion but the organization of it. I journal for my blog post. Just start writing anything and suddenly I have a post topic. The doodling and stickers and highlighters makes me feel less at work too.
